Many of you have noticed the recent sprouting of facial hair on my husband and have asked about it.  So here is the story…and my opinion about this new look of his.

Since before we were married Rock has known that I didn’t like facial hair.  The 3 months prior to our wedding we were separated; he in Utah and I in Washington.  Just to scare me he grew a very thick and full beard during that time and sent me a picture telling me that he would touch down in Washington for the wedding with said beard still on his face.  I was not looking forward to the kiss at such a reunion, but when the time came and he got off the plane without the beard I didn’t even notice, I was so happy to see him after being apart for so long.  It wasn’t till we were at baggage claim that I gratefully noticed that he was clean shaven.  Whew-close call, I thought.  And I hoped he had gotten THAT experience out of his system. 

I was wrong.  During the 6 weeks of my “recovery” after having Ladybug Rock decided to exert his free will and grow another beard.  He has been threatening to either grow a beard or shave his head for years and of the two, I would take the beard, but didn’t want either.  I come from a long line of facial hair haters and so I was completely surprised to find that I Really like him with a beard.  A SHORT beard, that is.  One that is not like kissing a carpet… more like kissing scruff that is soft.  I hate that he is right and he lords it over me every day as he flaunts his handsome face and struts like a peacock.
