Glimpses from my life of late;
During ”Quiet time” the two children upstairs are crying (loudly) in their beds, the two downstairs are fighting over Legos or the race track or…I can’t keep track. The fighting went on all day(all week really) and the crying of the stubborn two year old lasted for 1.5 hours.
“Put the lid down and WASH your hands!”
After I insisted that Go Go butter his own toast because I was taking care of other children, I stepped in a glob of butter half a cup in size and got a nice ride across the floor.
Go Go is hysterically crying and yelling at Mr. President all because he won’t let him tell him what kind of lettuce he has on his sandwich. All while Blue Jeans sings a really loud song. Cacophony comes to mind. Much of my life does.
“Put the lid down and WASH your hands!”
I walked into the office to find my iron in pieces on the floor having been knocked off the ironing board by a child the day before. Right as I notice the iron I step in the water that spilled out of it when it broke. The one bright spot… at least I wasn’t wearing socks at the time.
Went to the park to meet a new friend. Mr. President spent half the time arguing and bossing the other kids including the 11 year old. Go Go spent half the time falling off of the toys and crying. Imagine the sound of nails on a chalkboard. That’s the affect his crying has on me.
“FLUSH THE TOILET! Then, put the lid down and WASH your hands!”
And the piesta resistance;
Today I got to clean up a big fat jar of jam that fell from 5 feet up onto a cement floor and shattered into a million tiny pieces right next to, and therefore all over, the rugs where the boys play- which happened to be covered with LEGOS at the time. Picture if you can jam covered shards of glass all over the rug all over tiny LEGOS. I’d be willing to pay someone a LOT of money to avoid cleaning a mess like that ever again in my entire life.
Yeah, I bet you’re jealous.
Holy Mac and Cheese!!! That's terrible. I think that rug would have gone in the trash along with the legos. You're super awesome!! I wish you lived closer so I could come laugh off the miserable moments with you!! Hang in there, they're only little for about 20 years! HAHAHA!!

I try to show my students what kind of reader I am by showing all the different things that I read. Hope you don't mind if I show my kids your blog. (teehee)

Yep, I would have trashed it all and bought new legos. You rock for dealing with all of that!
