We didn’t go on any longer trips this summer, but opted for shorter day trips. Idaho is a beautiful place, I gotta say.
Shoshone Falls and Malad Gorge
We’ve had a ton of water this past year and we wanted to see the “Niagara Falls of the West” while it was gushing with lots of water, so Levi, Libby and I drove to Twin Falls in June to see Shoshone Falls.

On our way home, we stopped at Malad Gorge, a sight I have driven over hundreds of times in my life and never stopped at. Wow. I was missing out. None of my pictures really do it justice, so you’ll have to stop and see it for yourself. But the slot like canyon and waterfall you’ve been driving over and ignoring all these years is worth it. The picture below is standing on a bridge directly over the waterfall that flows from the slot canyon. I couldn’t get a good picture of the slot canyon waterfall but it was amazing. So glad we stopped!

Sun Valley
I’ve been hearing about Sun Valley since we moved here and it’s another place we’ve never managed to get to. So this summer we spent a day there and we are definitely going back. It was beautiful! It’s a mix between Aspen and Park City but Idaho Style. We went on a breathtaking hike. It was a gorgeous day.

McCall
No summer is complete without a trip to McCall for our favorite burgers and shakes and beautiful mountain views. This time it was just Sarin, Liberty and I. After lunch we went on a hike up near Brundage to see Goat Falls. It was unusual in that we hiked down to see the waterfall and then back up to the top. Not sure that I loved that, but it was a beautiful hike.
