Twas the Week Before Christmas

Liberty’s school had a Christmas sweater day and since I am too cheap to buy her a Christmas sweater she made herself one.

Baking Day!

Spritzboken Cookies!

This is only one kind of cookie we made that day. By the time we were done we had made gingersnap cookies, almond bark cookies, peppermint bark, and chocolate dipped pretzels.

You can’t see the boys because they are too cool to sit at daddy’s feet anymore, but they are there and they still love to listen to Rock’s rendition.

12 Years Old…Finally

Levi got to do all the 12 year old stuff early this year thanks to the changes our church made in age requirements. So this birthday seems a little anti climatic for us, but here he is, now 12. The only thing he can do now that he couldn’t before is sit in the front seat of the car, something he has been dying to do. Oh, and he now costs more for tickets. 😒

Rock took him and some friends sledding for his birthday party.

Joy
Boys and their toys-I’m not sure he has ever had a birthday when he didn’t get a dart gun.

We love this boy. He’s gets all these other boys outside and playing- off their computers. He loves making memories.

Christmas Concert Collage

Try saying Christmas concert seven times really fast. It makes a good tongue twister but attending seven Christmas concerts does not make for a peaceful Christmas season. Whew! And if Reagan were still in orchestra it would have been more!!! But here they are.

1. Capital Christmas Tree lighting.

2. Christmas Piano Recital

They both played their own song as well as this duet, but this one was really cute.

3. Santa Breakfast Honor Choir (1st concert on Saturday)

4. Meridian Symphony and Centennial High Camarata Choir Matinee Concert (2nd concert on Saturday)

I didn’t actually get a picture of this one so here is Cade in his tux.

5. Meridian Symphony and Centennial High Camarata Choir Evening Concert ( 3rd concert on Saturday)

Cade and I scarfed down our food at the ward Christmas party- (also on Saturday 🙄) stole some dessert before it was ready and before Santa had even made an appearance and headed to his 2nd concert of the day.

6. The Centennial High School Christmas Choir Concert.
Cade sang in two different groups for this one.

7. Lowell Scott Middle School Christmas concert

Levi is playing the main drum in this video:

And if seven concerts wasn’t enough we can add one more; on Sunday the older boys are singing in the church Christmas choir.

Is Christmas over yet???

Thanksgiving

This year we had Rock’s parents up for Thanksgiving.

On Tuesday the girls went to Wood Creations to make some beautiful things.

Aren’t they cute!

Liberty created her own bunny, not following any pattern or directions. I am so thankful for her courageous creativity. There is a sign on the wall there that says “She who leaves behind a trail of glitter is never forgotten.” And another one that says Creativity is messy.” That’s my girl.

A style all her own.

Our next adventure was dinner at Bruuchis. An absolute must for my father in law. And then on to the awesome lights at Scentsy. This was our first year doing it and it was so cool-literally and figuratively. It was a bitter cold night, windy and freezing! But we survived. Barely. Our last stop was Crumbl Cookie. My in laws were skeptical, but they have seen the light. 😉 I am thankful for warm, melt in your mouth cookies on a cold night.

We Love Bruchi’s!
Brilliant!
Super Brilliant!!
On Wednesday Grandpa decided he was not waiting any longer for pie so they cut into the apple pie for “snack”.

Liberty and Grandma were in charge of pies.

Apparently we only needed a Costco pumpkin pie, a regular size pumpkin pie, a Costco Apple pie, a Tripple berry pie and a French Silk pie so Liberty gave the third pumpkin pie to Grandpa Don who never gets to eat pie. 🙄 These Hymas people eat a lot of pie. And if you ask Grandpa there still wasn’t enough. I am thankful for French Silk Pie.

Headed to the Turkey Bowl

Our turkey bowl is famous! We made the news this year! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ktvb.com/amp/article/news/local/turkey-bowl-pick-up-game-is-boise-park-tradition/277-0fa7e8be-11bd-489c-b268-8fccb12f992b

Now that we’ve spent hours preparing this dinner, let’s eat it in 20 minutes!
Best Mother in Law EVER!

Nancy did my least favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner for me, but Neil did my 2nd least favorite thing: going to Costco-the week of Thanksgiving. That is a scary thing at any Costco in the country but it is the worst here in Boise. I am so thankful for my wonderful in laws. And not just for the turkey cleaning and Costco shopping. 😉

The Disney Dance

Reagan recently got asked to a another dance. The girl gave him this can of nuts.

It’s hard to see but it says “I’d go nuts if you’ll go with me to the Disney Duds Dance”

They decided to go as Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder. He spent the next few weeks obsessing over his costume. He grew his hair out, he grew a goatee and he spent hours shopping for and altering the perfect outfit. He bought two pairs of boots so he could cut the tops off one and insert them into the other pair. He literally sawed them off. He used brads to make the metal trim on the sleeves-Brads he spray painted to look more rustic.

Oh, and he spent hours perfecting his Flynn smile.

He said there were a million other Flynn Ryders but he was the best.
