Kisses

This morning when Blue Jeans woke up and came down stairs I tried to get him to give me a hug and a kiss.  Being a two year old and exerting his independence he kept saying, “No!”  I gave up after a while.  Just now (about 3 hours later) I was sitting here working on the computer and Blue Jeans came up to me and grunted at me as he often does to get me to do something.  “Mmm mmm uuuu uhh.”  Not understanding what he wanted he finally pointed to his lips.  So I bent down and gave him the kiss he was asking for and then he waddled away proud of himself for getting mommy to squeal with delight.  What a power trip.

At 12 weeks we’ve got two arms, two legs, a spine and a strong heartbeat with a 60/40 chance it’s a girl!  The technician said not to buy anything yet, but if she had to bet her paycheck she’d say girl.  Nausea is almost gone and energy level is returning!  Woohoo!

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! I am just now getting around to posting about it because…well, this little video will explain things a bit. This is a present the boys opened Christmas morning.

So there’s our big announcement-Let’s hope it’s a girl! And now I can post one of those cute baby countdowns on my blog! Needless to say this was by far the hardest Christmas of my life. It is NOT FUN to have morning sickness at Christmas time. Let me repeat for anyone who might be considering it. NOT FUN. All I can say is that it is a really good thing I got my Christmas shopping done in November this year or the boys would have gotten Happy Meal toys under the tree. But I will say here that I have the world’s most wonderful husband who picks up all the slack while I take my sick self and lie down. And he never ever complains. He is a saint and I love him very much.

The next big present came when Grandma and Grandpa showed up Christmas night to surprise the boys. I tried unscucessfully to download that video, but needless to say they were excited. G&G were hugged and then had to submit to a Christmas present show and tell.

We had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa. We spent one whole day in New York City. It was a day of firsts for the boys.
First time
on a train,
on a subway,
at ground zero,
in a skyscraper,
at Dad’s office-55 Broadway NY, NY
seeing a Kodoo and a Bongo (random horned deer-like African animals)
at the Museum of Natural History with the entire state of New York (note to all-Never, I repeat NEVER visit the Natural History museum the week after Christmas)

Here’s the picture story:

After a fun filled but extremely exhausting day we headed back to Penn Station to catch the train home only to find out the train was cancelled! Footsore and backs aching we settled down to wait for the next one with a box full of Krispy Kremes. Thankfully Penn Station has every kind of food imaginable! We finally rolled into Berkeley Heights about 9:30 PM. I don’t think I’ve ever been so tired. But we made lots of great memories. Can’t wait to go again!
